As more tech companies expand their locations away from Silicon Valley, the construction demand for space in San Francisco has skyrocketed.

The Wilshire Grand in Downtown Los Angeles has been an exciting project for the Burnham team to be a part of. From the demolition of the old Wilshire Grand Hotel, to the world-record setting mat foundation pour, to the unique challenges of permitting such a tall and slender structure, this project has been a fulfilling experience. The best part: it’s not over yet!

On Saturday, January 31st, Burnham will take part in the 19th annual Aon Step Up for Kids benefiting the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. All funds raised will directly impact over 174,000 patients and families of the hospital to ensure they have a brighter and healthier future.

At BuiltWorlds, we have a pretty good idea how inspiring the legacy of legendary architect, planner and team-builder Daniel Burnham can be for ambitious people with big plans and big hearts. After all, as some of you may recall, 'Burnham Works' was even our original name here last summer when we launched this champion of collaboration and innovation. Last fall, we changed our name to reflect an expanding mission, but we like to think that we have remained faithful to Mr. Burnham.
